Colossians 2:8-10 Hebrews 12: 7-11 Psalms 94: 12-13 Job 5: 17-18 1 Corinthians 10:13 |
The Scriptural Basis for Biblical Counseling is: Colossians 2:8-10; Hebrews 12:7-11; Psalms 94:12-13; Job 5:17-18; 1 Corinthians 10:13 God, Our Heavenly Father desires to have a close relationship with you and me, His Children. God loves us enough to bring attention to our worldly actions and beliefs that damage us and our relationship with Him. God will help us learn how to receive His righteousness and peace. You can reach your full potential through God’s grace. Biblical Counseling of Georgia operates under the Special Ministries division of the United Evangelical Churches based in California. If you are interested in having more information about United Evangelical Churches, we invite you to visit their web site, www.uecol.org. The Counseling Process At Biblical Counseling, we depend on The Holy Spirit’s direction (John 16:13) for each individual and situation. Finally, the Lord is the counselor and He counsels each of us: Psalm 33:11, 73:24; and Isaiah 9:6. The Lord counsels us to bear one another’s burdens: Galatians (1-2) Finally, the Lord also directs us to seek counsel and He tells of the benefits of accepting counsel: Proverbs 11:14, 13:10, and 19:20. Most hurting people experience two major difficulties: the fear of trusting and the fear of being vulnerable. Both trust and vulnerability are necessary for a relationship with anyone, including God. In counseling, I ask The Holy Spirit to provide what is needed to help you understand what is keeping you from a deeper relationship with God. He will provide this through me, others and directly to you. You can learn how to allow God to remove the barriers in your life and how to develop a healthy relationship with Him. Through the process, you learn how to choose God’s power and control in your life rather than your own or others. These choices begin breaking the power Satan has had over you, and soon, your ability to experience God’s control in your daily life will grow.
